Runoff from a melting snow pack and periods of rain will continue to work its way into area ditches...creeks...streams and rivers. Water levels are expected to run high or slowly rise over the next few days as a result. Many creeks and streams will be near bankfull or experiencing some minor lowland flooding. In addition...
Ice jams remain possible for those rivers still covered with ice...
Which may lead to some localized flooding problems. Additional rainfall of up to an inch will be possible through sunday. Some smaller creeks and streams are already at or above bankfull over parts of northeast iowa...creating some localized overland flooding. Meanwhile...a flood warning remains in effect for portions of the turkey river. Other rivers that could experience flooding over the next few days include the kickapoo...turkey...trempealeau...
Cedar and upper iowa. This hydrologic outlook is based on both observed and forecast precipitation. The rivers may respond differently than indicated...
