Message summary: ...melting snow and periods of rain will cause additional rises in
area creeks and rivers into the weekend... Runoff from a melting snow pack and periods of rain will continue to work its way into area ditches...creeks...streams and rivers. Water levels are expected to run high or slowly rise over the next few days as a result. Many creeks and streams will be near bankfull or experiencing some minor lowland flooding. In addition... Some smaller creeks and streams are already at or above bankfull over parts of northeast iowa...creating some localized overland flooding. Meanwhile...a flood warning remains in effect for portions of the turkey river. Other rivers that could experience flooding over the next few days include the kickapoo...turkey...trempealeau... Cedar and upper iowa. This hydrologic outlook is based on both observed and forecast precipitation. The rivers may respond differently than indicated... If actual precipitation is greater or less than expected. Those with river interests or who live in low lying areas need to remain alert through the weekend.
